MOLD DAMAGE

Wherever there is moisture, there is a potential for mold growth. Proper mitigation of floods, leaks and moist conditions are the most important factor in prevent mold growth.

However, if your property appears to have mold or other microbial growth, please contact us early so that we can identify the source of the problem and outline remediation and mitigation measures to the problem from getting worse.

The primary remediation as well as preventative measure for mold remediation is the identification and resolution of the mold source. In order for mold to grow or spread, there must be a source of moisture and something for the mold to feed from. By using proper tools such has Moisture Sensors, Moisture Meters Infrared Thermometers and Thermal Imaging Devices are necessary for determining that a building’s moisture conditions will prevent the growth and spread of mold.

It is critical to provide for the safety and health of workers and occupants. When it has been determined that an indoor environment is contaminated with mold, remediation workers shall be protected from exposure. Engineering controls and work practices are the primary means of preventing exposure. Appropriate respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE) shall be used in conjunction with engineering.

Containment Control. The spread of mold contamination should be controlled as close as practical to its source. The use of HEPA filtration, air barriers, and proper air exchanges helps to contain the mold spores and prevent spreading throughout the structure. Proper removal and control of the containment barriers will also prevent the spread of contamination.

Application of antimicrobials and biocides kills the mold in place and helps to prevent the spread of mold and other microbials. Utilization of a professional, independent testing organization is critical for verification of properly cleaning and mitigation of a contaminated property.
